Program & Facility Policies

• We reserve the right to cancel programs and/or change class times. Classes cancelled by the Stadium may or may not be rescheduled depending upon the circumstances.

• Programs may be paid for by cheque, Visa, Mastercard, debit or cash.

• Registration accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. 

• Code of Conduct: In an effort to provide participants and staff with a safe and enjoyable environment, inappropriate behaviour, foul language and aggressive behaviour to other participants and staff will not be permitted, as well as intentional damage to Stadium property and the property of others. HRM reserves the right to take necessary measures including, but not limited to, suspension or termination or enrollment and/or contacting the police when any participant contravenes HRM policies and/or by-laws.

• Waiting Lists: If the course you are interested in is full, you have the option of making another course selection or being put on a waiting list for the course of your choice (however, there is no guarantee that a space will become available). Participants will be contacted only if a space becomes available.

• Returned Cheque/Declined Credit Card Fee: A service fee, based on HRM’s Revenue Collection Policy, will be levied in the event of Non Sufficient Funds (NSF); Stop payment; or Funds Not Cleared.

• REFUND POLICY: HRM is committed to the satisfaction of all participants in our recreation programs. Participants requesting to withdraw from the program or class, must refer to the following policy:

  • Participants enrolled in a program or class may withdraw on the phone or in person up to seven days prior to the program start date.
  • Within seven days prior to the start date, refunds will only be issued if a waiting list is active for the program and the spot is able to be filled. 
  • If due to unforeseen circumstances or if you are unsatisfied with the program, please contact the Stadium to discuss your eligibility for a refund. Once the program has begun, a pro-rated refund will be issued if approved.
  • HRM Recreation Programming reserves the right to cancel programs or classes if minimum registration numbers are not obtained prior to the start date. In this case a full refund will be issued. If the fees were paid by credit card, a refund will appear on your credit card statement. If paid by cash, cheque or debit card, a refund cheque will be mailed to the customer within two to four weeks. There are no refunds for drop ins or punch passes.

• HST will be charged to our fees where applicable.

• Protection of Personal Property: The Stadium strives to provide a safe and secure environment for our members and clients. We are unable to accept responsibility for lost or stolen items. For the protection of your personal property we recommend you do not bring valuables to The Stadium and never leave your locker open or unattended.

• There is an inherent risk in performing any physical activity. It is the participant’s responsibility to determine which activities and exercises are safe for them, and to use all equipment properly. Although Sackville Sports Stadium attempts to achieve certain maintenance standards, the Stadium cannot assume the risk associated with the use of these premises. Therefore access to and use of these facilities is entirely at your own risk.

• The Stadium is a non-smoking facility. Smoking is not permitted within 10 meters of the building.

• The Stadium promotes a scent free environment. We ask that you refrain from wearing or using scented products.

• In the event of an unscheduled class cancellation, we will strive to make the class up following the last class of the session. However, when we are unable to do so we will provide a registrants with a credit or refund for missed time.

This system makes it easier for you to set up an account for you and your family, and to register for programs.

Sackville Sports Stadium registration dates are aligned with Halifax Regional Municipality's Parks & Recreation department.

March 24, 2026 beginning at 10am for Spring Swimming and Skating

April 14, 2026 beginning at 10am for Summer Camp, recreation programs, and inclusion.

June 16, 2026 beginning at 10am for pools, Beaches session 1 & 2.

July 21, 2026 beginning at 10am for Beaches session 3 & 4.

Important Notice - Programs & Services

Some great improvements will be taking place in December that will enhance our programming as well as your experience at the Stadium!

November 27th - December 12th

We are placing a permanent wall in between Studio A & B! We will be able to accommodate most group exercise classes in our new gymnasium, but some classes may be impacted.

  • Play & Splash will still continue, however, there will be no swim portion of the program. 
  • All group exercise will move to the gymnasium except for the following changes:
    • Monday Cardio Dance Fusion will move to the RecZone.
    • Thursday Yoga at 7:00pm will move to the Rec Zone.
    • Friday Zumba Disco will end November 24th.
    • Saturday 9:00am Muscle Matters and Zumba will rotate i the gymnasium. Muscle Matters will be held Dec 2nd (No Zumba that day), and Zumba will be held Dec 9th (No Muscle Matters that day).
    • Gymnastics will run until December 2nd and the last week will be held in the gymnasium.
    • Boxing will continue to be held in the Training Zone on Thursday evenings from 7-8pm. The Training Zone will not be available to members during this time. The last class will be held on Dec. 21st.

November 29th - December 31st

The Fitness Centre is getting a full floor makeover! This means we will need to fully close the fitness centre during this time. We will be moving some pieces of our fitness equipment up to parts of the new space (form. Newbridge Academy), as well as, in our Training Zone. Our trainers will be available at any time to help you plan a new routine during this time or to show you how to use certain equipment.

Hours of operation will stay the same except we will be closing at 10pm daily during this time.

Members will have access to the pool locker rooms and showers.

We will honor all hold requests should you choose to place your membership on hold during this time. This request must be placed prior to November 29th. Please see our Front Desk for more info.

November 27th - December 31st

Our small pool will be having the expansion joint replaced. The small pool will be closed during this time. There will be no Parent & Tot swims or Gentle Aqua class scheduled for the month. The large pool will remain open.

December 13th - December 22nd

The Subway Cafe is getting a full floor makeover and will be closed during this time.
