Summer FITeen

Sign up Starting June 17th!
In an effort to break down barriers that prevent youth from staying active over the summer, the Sackville Sports Stadium is offering a summer membership FREE to youth ages 12-18 years. Please note based on the age of the youth, they may be restricted from participating in certain activities included in the membership.
Included in the Membership
- Full access to the Fitness Centre (min. age 12 yrs)
- Public Swims (12yrs+)
- Public Skates (12yrs +)
- Group Exercise Classes (min. age 14 yrs)
- Cycle Zone Classes (min. age 14 years and a height min. of 4”11)
Terms & Conditions
- Registration opens June 17th.
- Parent/guardian must be present at the time of signing up and is required to sign the agreement form and welcome letter.
- Proof of age must be presented at the time of signup.
- New Members ages 12-15 must sign up for a Summer FITeen Orientation Session.
- Some activities can be pre-booked online at www.halifax.ca/myrec. Our Front Desk can assist you in getting set up. Spaces are limited for all activities.
Fitness Centre (Min. 12yrs)
- To access activity areas you must scan your Membership card at the Front Desk.
- Cell phone use is not permitted in the change rooms, locker rooms, or while using any equipment.
- Bring a lock for you locker. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
- We ask that all Members allow others to work in-between sets and share equipment.
- Please do not drop or bang weights onto the floor.
- Please wipe off equipment after each use with spray cleaners and paper towels provided.
- Please put all equipment back after use.
- Workout time is for fun, results, safety, and effectiveness (no bullying, unsafe challenging permitted, or profanity/swearing).
- Workout time is designated for workouts not hang outs.
- Dress Code: Running shoes, Shorts or exercise pants, T-shirts or tanks (free of offensive language or symbols).
Group Exercise (Min. 14yrs) & Cycle Zone Classes (Min. 14yrs)
- We recommend you show up 15mins early for Group Fitness or Cycle Zone classes to check in with the instructor letting them know you are new.
- Schedules of classes can be found online on our website or at our Front Desk.
- Dress Code: Running shoes, Shorts or exercise pants, T-shirts or tanks (free of offensive language or symbols).
- Bring water!
Swimming (Min. 12yrs)
- Showers are required before entering the pool.
- We recommend bringing a lock for your locker.
- Only clean deck shoes on the pool deck and shower areas.
- Public Swim schedule can be found online on our website or at our Front Desk.
Skating (Min. 12yrs)
- HRM Public Skate Policies are in effect. These can be viewing online or at the Front Desk.
- Public Skate schedule can be found online on our website or at our Front Desk.
- No hockey sticks during skates.
- Children 12 years of age and under must wear a CSA approved multi-impact helmet (hockey helmet).
